Consider this a call out to anyone who might be interested in contributing to a collaborative musical project I've been wanting to work on. Basically the idea is I'd like to get elements from many different people--- a guitar riff here, a drum pattern there, vocals, melodies, whatever, and combine these disparate elements--- all composed without knowledge of any of the others--- into some sort of cohesive whole. Slicing and dicing and key and tempo changes are all fair game once I get them into my grubby little hands.
If you're interested in contributing, I'm happy to dispense what small amount of recording advice I can. It may take a while for this project to come to fruition (I need to gather a few elements, and then, pretty much, just play with it until I hit upon something I like), but if you have the desire and the time to contribute-- I don't care what you feel your level of talent is-- I'd love to have you involved. If you have friends whom you think might be interested, tell them too. You can email me, or post to the comments here if you'd like to participate.
There is now a website that will sit there glaring at me until I actually do something about this project.
