Stuffit Expander Direct Link

This post was published more than a few years ago (on 2006-08-08) and may contain inaccurate technical information, outmoded thoughts, or cringe takes. Proceed at your own risk.

Ever since Apple started using their own ZIP utility built into Mac OS X and stopped bundling Stuffit, the fine folks at Aladdin Allume Systems have gotten progressively more touchy about giving you access to their free expander product. Used to be, you could go to the download page directly, then they started making you fill out a little form with your email address--- but at least you could uncheck the box that said "Yes, please, for the love of god, send me as many marketing emails as you possibly can."

Now, however, there's no link on their website. Only a form where you put in your address and they send you an email with an indirect link that verifies your addres and presumably adds it to their database before dumping you onto the actual download page. (I assume this since the email explicitly states "By confirming your email address and downloading this file, you are signing up to receive periodic followup emails from us.")

Well, thankfully, they've been kind enough not to add a referrer check to that download page, so if you'd like to download Stuffit Expander without all the rigimarole, just go here.
