  • Golden Bull

For whatever reason, I had some Red Bull sitting in my fridge, so I decided to make something palatable out of it. It’s still not all that palatable, but here’s the “Golden Bull.” The rum gives it some bite, which is balanced out by the honey sweetness of the Barenjäger:

    – 1 oz Jamaican Rum (brand doesn’t matter so much here, as the Red Bull taste is pretty overpowering)
    – 1/2 oz Barenjager (Honey Liquer)
    – 3 oz Red Bull

Put everything in an old fashioned glass on the rocks, and give to someone who really likes Red Bull, because as much as I tried to tart it up, it still has that awful Red Bull flavor.

    *Enjoy!*

  • Make:DC LED Cube Workshop

You can read my experience at the workshop in my previous post, but just wanted to post that even making it home without a copy of the instructions, I figured it out, and actually got my cube working. Well, aside from the two dead LEDs, at least.

Here’s a short video of the test, […]

  • F#@K YEAH!!!

I’m uh… really pleased that iTunes 7.6 has added my most requested feature of all time: 1, 3, 5, or 10 least recent selections for syncing podcasts and TV shows. Huzzah! Now I can finally listen/watch in order instead of being forced to find an inventive, yet annoying, work-around to being forced to sync only the latest episodes (which in many of my podcast subcriptions, may build upon material that was in an older show).

This wasn’t such a huge deal when I carried an 80 GB iPod around all the time, but now that I have 1/10th the space on my iPhone, it makes all the difference in the world. Thanks, Apple!

  • Writers’ Strike – Best Thing Ever?

    From the Make Blog:

Hear, hear. Even though I actually work in television, we dropped our cable TV subscription mid-last year. I weighed the possibility for a while— sure I got some inspiration for other work I saw on the tube, and I got to see the shows I had worked on finally be […]

  • apple-touch-icon

This website, like all of my sites now, has an Webclip Bookmark Icon. That means that if you use the webclip feature of an iPhone or an iPod Touch to “Add to Home Screen”, you get a nice little icon in your home screen instead of just a miniature screenshot of the site itself.

    How […]

  • Inaugural Dorkbot DC + Make:DC Workshop

I went downtown tonight for the first joint Dorkbot DC meeting, and the first ever MAKE:DC meeting. It was held at the Koshland Science Museum, which I’d never been to before, but it was pretty easy to find — just around the block from the Gallery Place Metro stop. We were going to make a […]
