I sit here, on a sweltering summer afternoon, on the back patio of my parents’ house in Florida, polishing the black shoes that my father will wear in his casket, for his funeral. I don’t know what my emotions are right now, but I’m trying to be of service, and I think that is the best thing I can do right now. I miss my dad. -
