  • Mediaeval Baebes

Mediæval Bæbes - Mistletoe & WineJust testing to see whether Smarty Pants will translate the "ae" in their name to the "æ" ligature glyph. [Update: It doesn’t.]

In any case, the Mediæval Bæbes are definitely worth a listen. I’m looking forward to getting their holiday album, Mistletoe & Wine.

  • Movies

Just realized, I gotta get my movie review macro set up on here ASAP, since I’m planning to watch a movie-a-day (or more) during my winter vacation. Hopefully, I can get ratings up for all of the movies on my Netflix “rented” list as well, though we’ll have to see about that.

I’m seriously looking forward to getting back in the swing of things with Netflix– I’ve been slacking off for waaaaay too long (all but one of the eight rentals on my shelf date back to September or earlier). If I can work back up to 4-5 rentals and reviews a week, I’ll be very, very happy. Hell, even if I can only do two per week, I’ll be pretty pleased. Anything to keep ’em from sitting on my shelf for more than a month. 😛

  • Late Shift

So, I’m still at work– look at that timestamp!! …after a particularly brutal weekend bout with Final Cut Pro, who made me its bitch. I’ll spare you the gory details, and leave it at this: I had to redo nearly two days worth of editing today. Errr… yesterday.

So, I’m sitting here, waiting for the Barwood Taxi to come, hoping it’s on the shorter end of the "up to an hour" estimate the calltaker gave me, and thinking what I’d like most right now is to have already been asleep in my own bed for the past four or five hours. Remind me not to stay out past Metro’s closing time again.

Anyway… I’m just tired and rambling and waiting from the driver to call. Hopefully sweet sleep will soon come.

Oh– remind me to tell you about my new shoes and socks. Y’know, when I’m coherent.

  • After the War

If you’re interested in reading an article about what the "post-war" situation in Iraq is really like, I think you’ll appreciate this article from the New Yorker. It’s about an hour read, but well worth it.

By the way– yes, I know the site redesign is still in desperate need of finishing. Believe me, it’s on my [winter holiday] wishlist too. Patience, young padowan.

Man, I can’t believe I just said that. Probably misspelled it, too. 😛
