Yesterday, we drove a little over eight hours from our home in lovely, scenic Gaithersburg, Maryland, to Kettering (near Dayton), Ohio.

Today, we do it again, in reverse.

Gah.

The trip up wouldn't have been quite so bad if I had received some semblance of sleep the night before, or the several nights before that. Fatigue is a tricky beast, and sets to the task of making you pass out with your eyes open six hours into an eight hour trip. Thankfully, just at that point of my highway hypnosis, there was an accident up ahead to break the monotony, and we made it all the way without incident. That's, of course, not to mention the constantly intermittent rain, which was the real bane of the trip, lowering my safe driving speed, and just generally making me depressed as hell.

Fortunately this morning, all that has changed. I only have an eight hour drive back ahead of me, in a driving thunderstorm. 😛

At least I got some sleep.

[More to come later, including the interesting bits, like the enormous "NUDE GIRLS - FREE FOOD" sign, and Lover, Pennsylvania. Stay Tuned!]
