So, I've been rethinking this whole computer platform thing. Who cares if the Mac is based on a better operating system? I need speed. Intel chips are running at two to three times the MHz speed of the Motorola chips that power my G4 Mac, and even Adobe has announced that they prefer PCs for running digital video-related programs. In their tests, a single processor Dell 3.06 GHz handily beat a Mac G4 Dual 1.25 GHz machine on several video-related actions. I'm certain this has nothing to do with Adobe's poor dual-processor support, the fact that they sell Dell workstations on their Digital Video Gear page, or their annoyance at Apple for Final Cut Pro nearly pushing Premiere out of the Mac market.
So, that's why I'm moving to a PC. This morning, I placed all my Macintosh computers on eBay, quit my job at the local Mac reseller, and committed myself to purchasing a Dell Precision workstation equivalent to the G4 I have now and with all the options, it comes to $11,241.
Er
Well, fuck that. April fools.
