Saddam Captured

I just woke up to the news on WTOP that Saddam Hussein has been captured. I suppose it's good news, but I'm not quite sure exactly how this changes things. Everyone seems to be very upbeat that this will really change the course of things for the better in Iraq, but no one has given any reasons as to why.

I suppose the proof that he is now out of power will change the reaction of some Iraqis to the American intervention there... but if many of the problems are more of a misunderstanding of culture and protocol that was delineated in the New Yorker article I linked to earlier, then I don't see how this will really change anything.

Time will tell, I suppose.

So, anyway... now that we've got Saddam, can we please go back to chasing that Osama guy? You remember-- the guy who masterminded the WTC bombing a couple years back? Ahhh... who cares? We got... someone! That's all we need for a 2nd term of King George II, right?
