  • Traditional Costume

So, this is the traditional costume of These united States of America? I suppose it is vaguely reminiscent of certain Native American garb, but I think a little bit of “Vegas Showgirl” has crept in there as well.

    Update
I’m now linking to the image directly. The original caption read:

  • Weather Man

Well, finally! Lookit-Intense Films is finally offering its first DVD available to the public, Weather Man, by The Fuzz. This film won the DC 48 Hour Film Project last year, and I was lucky enough to be a part of it. Now, you too can have your very own shiny disc, playable in your set-top DVD player or computer of choice. Enjoy!

  • Appalachian Trail

A few years ago, while on a streak of otherwise very interesting Bill Bryson books, I came across his then-newly-in-paperback A Walk in the Woods, and it sparked my interest in one day hiking the Appalachian Trail.

  • Colophon

So, today I’ve added a new colophon to the site. I also— oh… —ahem—

col•o•phon n. an inscription placed at the end of a book or manuscript usually with facts relative to its production

    Oh, er…

huz•zah n. an expression or shout of acclaim— often used interjectionally to express joy or approbation

  • Yes, Redesigning Yet Again

I’ve moved the blog over to WordPress, which is the successor to the b2 weblog software I used to use to power this very site. I’m also cleaning up a lot of old posts that haven’t been tidied up since this site was hand-coded (and had a really crappy design) back in ’99, plus I’m […]

  • Enterprise Season Finale

I apologize in advance for my lack of decorum, but…

    WHAT THE FUCK???

Agreed, it was an excellent episode, but— Nazi aliens? They’d better f’n have something planned to wrap that up without exploding my brain.

My guess is that’s the cliffhanger they were planning before they knew they were renewing for a new season, and figured it’d generate a write-in campaign of extraordinary magnitude.

    Anyway…

Three more weeks of Deadwood, then no more good TV ’til Six Feet Under picks back up.

    You have our gratitude.
