Thanks for your reply. Your receipt shows that your device was purchased over a year ago. Your GO 720 comes with a one year warranty. Your device is out of warranty and we do not have out of warranty repairs available. We are deeply sorry for any frustration this has caused you.

There’s no way TomTom would get away with this in the UK on account of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 :

“The quality of the goods sold must be satisfactory … The Act provides an objective test to determine satisfactory quality; the standard that a reasonable person would regard as satisfactory, taking into account the price, description and any other relevant factors.”

Do you have no equivalent legislation to protect the consumer?
