Agreed, it was an excellent episode, but— Nazi aliens? They’d better f’n have something planned to wrap that up without exploding my brain.

My guess is that’s the cliffhanger they were planning before they knew they were renewing for a new season, and figured it’d generate a write-in campaign of extraordinary magnitude.

Anyway…

Three more weeks of Deadwood, then no more good TV ’til Six Feet Under picks back up.

LaCie Announces Dual-Layer DVD Burners

Oooooh… I’ve been waiting for this. LaCie has announced external dual-layer DVD-burners, which essentially lets you burn your own DVD-9 discs (with nearly twice the capacity of normal DVD-Rs) at home. That means 4+ hours of best quality video on a single disc. w00t!
WordPress, Here I Come

Okey, now I’m definitely moving over. WordPress imported all of my MT entries without a hitch, and looking through what docs there are, it seems all the features i want are already in there— save possibly the MT-Amazon plug-in I was using to create my review links. Ah well… that’ll be a good programming challenge for me to replace that, and maybe even contribute something new to the community.

Well, I’m trying to see how this new WordPress thing works. I like the interface a lot (reminds me of b2, which I used to use, and coincidentally enough, is the direct precursor to WP). Considering the new liscening deals that Movable Type has put into place (yes, there’s a free version, but the paid one is required for using registration for comments), and that this baby is not only open source, but free and PHP-based instead of Perl… I think I may have to make the switch.

AAl just sent me this link to Escher’s "Relativity" in LEGO. A pretty amazing feat of LEGO engineering, with links to a few other Escher drawings that the author has built with LEGO blocks. The extended construction photos are quite amazing.
